I got the blog alert thing working on my page. And I even changed some of the code to reflect my blogs color palette. Sorry, your dad sux0r.
I don't think the problem is the code and inserting it on the page. I did that just fine... I'm not sure that the alert itself works.
Worked for me... *whistles*
