Over Halfway There!

So last week marked the halfway point of the pregnancy. I am 21 weeks pregnant today and, God willing, am over halfway there! I am definitely showing now...got my little baby bump that has made my normal pants impossible to wear. So went to the Outlet Mall last weekend and bit the bullet and shopped at a maternity store. I was surprised how many cute things they had...it was actually fun to shop for clothes! I bought two pairs of pants, three tops, and the greatest invention for pregnant women...the Bella band. The Bella band is this nylon/spandex band that goes from just under your bustline to your waist. It has multiple functions...it allows you to wear pants that are too tight, you don't have to button or zipper them up all the way. Just put on your band and if it shows, it looks like you're wearing a tank top underneath. It also helps keep up maternity pants that are a little too loose yet. I have worn mine every day since I got it and I am in love! I may have bought a few baby clothes that were on sale too....but I am really trying to curb that instinct until we have a better indication of how big she is.

I am feeling great for the most part. A little cramping, but I've been told to expect that...growing pains with my expanding uterus basically. But the nausea is gone and the fatigue is much better. I've been able to be social with people after what was essentially three months of hibernation. I still get tired easily and go to bed fairly early. Still have times where I'm very withdrawn and quiet...Ryan likes to tease me that I'm in one of my "gestation" moods. I thought I felt the baby move a couple times...but I'm not 100% sure. It felt like gas bubbles...but a little different. Hopefully I'll start feeling it for certain soon. My next doctor appointment is Tuesday, so we'll see how she's grown.

On a personal note...we were on vacation with my family a few weeks ago in North Carolina and Ryan proposed. Yup...gonna make the baby legitimate! ;) It was wonderful and special and to be able to share it with my family was priceless. I don't get to share too many moments with them since we live so far away. Not sure what the wedding is gonna shape up to be yet...it's probably gonna be just me and Ryan somewhere scenic. We're looking at a small window at the end of July/beginning of August.

I also started the fun process of registering! Woo hoo! Target is the only place for now, they have SO much cute stuff and it tends to be a little cheaper than Babies R Us. Once we finalize the registry, I'll post the info here. You'll also be able to look it up by either my name or Ryan's name. Being a first time mom, it is a little daunting to register when you look at all the STUFF they have out there. What do you really need? What's just nice to have? What's just a waste of money?
